Mančuška Ján 1972–2011
Figure I., 1996
gouache, paper, frame, glass, 172,3 × 97,4 cm
The collection of works by Ján Mančuška was created between 1995-1997.
It is unique in the sense that it represents a relatively short but intense,
transitional developmental stage of the author's work. From this series, the following have survived
a limited number of works.
The works from this period of painting and, to some extent, printmaking were
that allowed him to develop a direction in which he broke away from
metaphysical transcendental experience and took a path towards depicting
the liminal objecthood of everyday life.
These works thus partly represent an important intermediate stage and at the same time are
logical basis for his future all-round artistic development.
The basic scale of the presented works is partly, or completely, human
figure. The works are characterized by the ability to contextualize immediately
thinking.
This leaves the figure, which is a dynamic, deeply sensitive drawing
lace is channeled into a mental ornament.
