Adriena Šimotová, one of the most prominent Czech artists of the second half of the 20th century and a member of the famous group UB 12, gradually formed in painting, drawing and graphics their characteristic style. Her inner ones projected feelings and often tragic moments into it. Her work radiates an inner force with which she was able to cope with everything she had experienced. She has reached several creative highlights. The first in the sixties, the next even in the extremely unfavorable time of the so-called normalization, when she was clearly associated with the unofficial art scene, and then after in 1989, ie after the end of the totalitarian regime, when it was able to benefit everyone previous experience. The drawings from recent years are also remarkable she was already seriously ill and could barely move. She used it in graphics classic techniques of printing from the depth in an unconventional way and combined clean fragile lines with complex structures. In the drawing, she often cut and stabbed paper layers, as if she wanted to hurt them. She also created delicate and sensitive paper objects, which also reflected her most intimate experiences.
