Figure „The Wide One“

Brno, circa 1920, Arts and Crafts Workshops of Bohumír Čermák, turned and painted wood, individual parts linked with an elastic band, height 12 cm, missing cap Lit.: Jirásek Pavel: Umělecké hračky (Artistic Toys). In: Vídeňská secese a moderna 1900 – 1925 (Viennese Secession and Modern Style 1900-1925), Moravian Gallery, Brno 2005, p. 290. Figure is among quality products of the Brno workshops of B. Čermák, who is potentially the author of this design. It was a series of three figures from a fairy tale “The Tall One” “The Wide One” and “The Quick-eyed”, which was produced in 1920s.
