Germany, 1960-1908, design by Peter Behrens for AEG co., clear ground glass with inner milk layer, patinated base metal, two-piece shade with metal mount, new electrification, height 68 cm; In 1899 designer Peter Behrens joined art colony Darmstadt where he soon gained leadership position. Later on, he served as a director of Kunstgewerkeschule in Dusseldorf. In 1907-1914 he worked for AEG in Berlin where he served as an art advisor and designer. While with AEG he created the world's first corporate image. In 1922 he lectured at Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna.
