Dušan Samo Jurkovič, - one
one of the most prominent Czech and Slovak
architects of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
A representative of Art Nouveau architecture, he created
his own movement, in which he combined
Art Nouveau elements with folk architecture.
Equally distinctive and extraordinary are his
interior and furniture designs.
The furnishings of the Vesna Girls' Guesthouse
(the so-called Small and Large) was designed by D.
S. Jurkovič in 1899, the designs were
implemented in 1900-1902.
The furniture with the motif of a dove's tail is
in the collections of e.g. the Museum of the Wallachia Region
in the Vsetín Chateau, the Museum of Art Olomouc,
in the Pustevny area - in the Maměnka building
and the Libušín building.
