"Veronika Šrek Bromová was one of the first to experiment with digitally modified photography. She recorded "self-performances" and thus created provocative self-portraits on the border between theatrical playfulness and an attempt to express the existential experience of corporeality. Her work of the last ten years has shown an empathy for non-European art and concepts towards a more universal understanding of the world. She has reflected strongly on Taoism - for example, in her illustrations for her translation of Václav Cílek's Tao, which influence her work beyond performance, but also in drawing and painting. In her hybrid universe, which absorbs new and new influences, "archetypal figures that unify the principles of nature."
