Hubert Kovařík, together with A. Čermák and P. Brablenec, founded the Kunštát Ceramics company in 1919. In 1922, H. Kovařík left and founded the Hubert Kovařík Artistic Ceramic Workshop in Svitávka, but he continued to cooperate with Kunštát. His production reached the quality of foreign companies, such as the products of the Wiener Werkstaette workshops, which could compete with them.
