River with reeds, after 1910

oil, cardboard, frame, professionally restored, 49.8 × 59.5 cm, sign. PD Radimský
The expert opinion of PhDr. Michael Zachař is attached. From the opinion of PhDr. Michael Zachar The assessed work from the peak period of 1910 does not lack compositional clarity, coloristic sophistication or the ability to capture the atmospheric moment in the daily weather cycle. It is a well-painted open air painting in Radimsky's typical brush technique with distinctive strokes, layered strokes, layered pastes with alternating several brushes. The principle of remote horizon and deep diagonal axis he mastered during his French stay before 1900, as evidenced by the monumental canvas Potok v Giverny (Blažíčková, cat. no. 70), and further developed in more modest variants (Wind in the bulrushes, cat. no. 123, Autumn by the river, cat. No. 128) and more spectacular (Storm on the Seine, cat. No. 135). Radimský here he captures the character of a flat water-endowed region and ranks to similar paintings published by Blažíčková on pages 230 to 250. Subject quality image, which is incorporated into the author's favorite series according to modeled by his teacher Monet, he raises awareness of the method of Radim's processing one specific motive. In any case, it is an engaging image of high artistic level, the discovery of which contributes to a more complete knowledge of top work one of our best impressionists. A native of Kolín, the academic painter VÁCLAV RADIMSKÝ (1867–1946) belongs to the most famous Czech artists in the world and to the most important landscape painters impressionism in the context of Europe. After studying in Munich and Vienna, he left for France, where he worked first in Barbizon and then for many years in the painting colony of Claude Monet in Giverny, where he mastered and brilliantly varied Monet's impressionism. He gained his quality and fame above all, especially in the long run to work intently alongside the great world landscape architect Monet directly in his home environment. After returning to Bohemia after the First World War, he practiced learned method here with more else with less potential committed to their own grateful clientele. He was one of the dazzling phenomena and collector's staples.
