Potato

monogrammed MH, bronze, height 5,5 cm
Can a potato be a luxury item On the first paradox, that the ordinary potato can be art, Houser adds his typical humor ...that something as mundane as a potato... can turn into an exclusive commodity. Houser takes stock through hyperrealistic sculpture with the opposites of the low and the high in art and with the change of symbols we are used to seeing conventionally. Milan Houser studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, studio from 1993-2000. of monumental works by Aleš Veselý. In 2000 he received the Rector's Prize of the Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2008 he has been a teacher at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Brno University of Technology, From 2011 to 2019 he also served as Dean of the Faculty.
